Golden Nameplate Awards – The Class of 2019!

December 9, 2019 by Cubert

gold dust

Greetings happy readers! I’m excited to unveil my favorite crew for 2019. More names to etch on the trophy – yay!

For 2019, I’ve opted to focus on bloggers who’ve been instrumental in bringing exposure to THIS blog. This year’s Golden Nameplate is a “Thank You” to five fantastic writers who’ve established a consistently strong following.

Without further adieu, here’s our class of 2019!

I’m incredibly grateful for the support each of these blogging friends have given me. It’s a lot more fun to write when you have a decent audience to cater to. Guests posts, random mentions, and backlinks and referrals have all lead to more readership. This, in turn, motivates me to support new bloggers with guest posts and random shout-outs. The pay-if-forward system – gotta love it.

Retire by 40 was kind enough to feature me among his list of best early retirement blogs earlier this year. Joe has been doing this for a long time now, so to get his stamp of recognition was pretty sweet, to say the least.

Angela at Tread Lightly, Retire Early supports the community like no other. She’s in it for the people and I truly admire that.

Jay Money at Budgets are Sexy is like the Godfather of this blog. He was willing to take up a guest post when Abandoned Cubicle was two months old. All of a sudden I started getting a little traffic and then the invite to Rockstar Finance came along.

Similarly, my fellow Minnesotan the Physician on FIRE has been super supportive by featuring a couple of guest posts and including a couple of mentions in his collection, The Sundays Best. He’s our “Du Nord” clan leader, and a fine one at that. Oh yeah, you betcha!

The last two of the bunch I’ve met in person. Carl at 1500 Days to Freedom and Gwen of Fiery Millennials. I love that each has been supportive in their unique way. Carl with guest post exchanges and excellent advice. Gwen with keeping me up on the zeitgeist of the community and getting me random referrals for mainstream news outlets. (Oh, and the kids still love the marbles, btw!)
