Functional Footwear Options for Busy People

December 9, 2020 by Cubert

Shoes are an essential part of every outfit. But with so many options to choose from, it can be difficult to find the right pair for the right situation.

When it comes to footwear, function matters more than fashion. That way, the next time you’re in a pinch to pick the right outfit, you’ll have the right pair of shoes to go along with it. With this in mind, let’s take a look at five essential footwear options for busy people:

Ankle boots

Perfect for business matters, social gatherings, and casual meet-ups with close friends, everyone should have a pair of ankle boots in their shoe closet. From Chelsea-style boots for men to Chukka-style booties for women, there are fabulous designs available for just about everyone. Not only are ankle boots suitable for a variety of situations, but they’re also ideal for wearing throughout the year, making them one of the most functional footwear options available.

Weatherproof boots

Everyone hates walking in the rain or snow. However, the choice of footwear can make a huge difference. Weatherproof boots keep your feet warm and dry as you persevere through cold weather and wet landscapes. Even if it’s just for walking the dog in the rain, a pair of weatherproof boots are worth the investment. Pick the right brand, and you’ll have a durable set to last you the rest of your life.

Slip-Ons

It’s a good idea to have a pair of shoes you only wear inside the house. While house slippers make it difficult to get chores and other tasks done, slip-on shoes let you freely move around the house while still preventing outside dirt from getting on your floors. Perfect for laundry day, spring cleaning, and preparing meals in the kitchen, a cheap pair of slip-ons should be part of your shoe collection.

Sneakers

Chances are you already have a pair of sneakers, which is good. Whether it’s playing a pickup game of basketball or exploring state fairgrounds, sneakers are a great go-to footwear option for various situations. Sneakers also have the most variety in design, color, and fit, making them a popular component of many fashion-forward outfits.

Simple dress

Whether it’s a pair of black oxfords or brown wedges, simple dress shoes are the appropriate footwear option for many formal settings and situations. Weddings, funerals, and award ceremonies are just some of the times when you’ll want a nice pair of dress shoes ready to wear. Just make sure to keep them in good condition. Since you probably won’t wear them that often, it shouldn’t be too difficult. However, you might want to have a canister of shoe polish on hand, just in case.

If you’re like most people, the only time you aren’t wearing shoes is if you’re relaxing at home or asleep. Since shoes are such a central part of fashion, let alone the ability to function throughout the day, individuals must have the right sets of shoes available to wear. Doing so ensures you’ll always have appropriate footwear for any situation life throws at you.
